- All of the characters within the show were based on kitchen utensils, as well as many of the props.
- Button Moon was originally a Playboard Puppets stage show in 1978.
- The show's theme tune was co-written and performed by Peter Davison, known for his roles in 'Doctor Who' and 'All Creatures Great and Small'.
